1. line engraving technique | The “line engraving technique” is a technique unique to Satogama in which a picture is drawn on the clay using a divider needle and an engraving knife. This technique is rarely seen in Arita-yaki, which is painted with a brush. Carving when the clay is a little soft creates the strength of the clay's flaking, which gives the painting depth and a three-dimensional effect. Amakusa pottery stone, which has been used in Mikawauchi and Arita, is used for the porcelain clay that serves as the campus. It is characterized by its high strength and hardness, and the finished color is beautiful without being muddy.

2.Porcelain paintings that will never fade away | It is difficult to discern colors that change with firing, and ceramic panels often crack during the production process. On the other hand, once finished, unlike ordinary paintings or photographs, painted pictures do not fade. Furthermore, ceramic frames harmonized with the blue of gozu, a traditional pigment, evoke the feelings the artist must have had at the moment he saw the scene.

3. life with painting | When you encounter your favorite art and display it in your living space.... This creates a special relationship between you and the art that cannot be created just by viewing it in a museum or gallery. The artist creates ceramic works of art, imagining that they will become a one-of-a-kind piece of interior design that you can share with your friends and family.

Porcelain Tile Art

In recent years, Arita ware has once again gained attention both in Japan and abroad. One reason for this is that Arita craftsmen, while preserving the techniques honed over a long history, are exploring new directions by creating room deco items and original design art pieces.
Particularly, the bold and contemporary designs are highly regarded not only as traditional crafts but also as modern art pieces that blend seamlessly into contemporary room deco. As a result, Arita ware has grown in popularity as a room deco item that enhances the atmosphere of homes and offices, standing out as a unique and original decorative item.
Additionally, many Arita ware pieces are handmade by craftsmen, combining warmth and uniqueness, making them popular as special gifts. Especially, pieces that fuse traditional techniques with modern aesthetics possess timeless charm, and are cherished by many as distinctive, personalized gifts.
